Privacy Policy

stocks-llm is a research and discovery tool for US public companies. It has no user accounts and asks for no personal information to use. This policy explains, plainly and accurately, what the website and the mobile app collect, why, and how it is handled.

Chat questions

When you ask a question, your question text is processed to generate an answer and is forwarded to our AI provider (Anthropic) for that processing with no identity attached — no name, account, or profile. Questions and answers are not tied to you.

To prevent abuse and debug quality issues, a failed request may be recorded in an internal, server-side-only error log. Where that happens, only a short excerpt of the question and a hashed client key are kept — never a raw IP address — and the log is size-capped and rotated, so it does not grow without bound. These logs are not shown to visitors and are used solely for operating the service.

IP addresses and rate limiting

Your IP address is used transiently, in memory, to enforce rate limits (so one client cannot overwhelm the service). It is not stored in a database for this purpose. The only place an IP is persisted anywhere on the site is the feedback form below, and there it is hashed first.

Feedback form

If you choose to send feedback ("Built by Soner. Got feedback?"), the message, the category you pick, and the page you sent it from are stored so the site owner can read and act on it. Your IP address is one-way hashed (SHA-256 with a secret salt) before it is ever written, so the raw IP is never kept. An email address is stored only if you voluntarily enter one; it is optional and used only to reply to your feedback.

Website analytics

The website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and page views (which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from). This is standard web analytics and does not identify you personally to us. Google may set analytics cookies in your browser; you can block or clear them in your browser settings. The website carries no advertising.

No accounts, no newsletter

stocks-llm has no login and no user accounts, so it holds no password, profile, or portfolio for you. It does not currently operate an email newsletter, and no email address is required to use the site. Your watchlist is saved only in your own browser's local storage — it stays on your device, is never uploaded to our servers, and does not sync across devices or browsers. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

Mobile app

The stocks-llm mobile app contains no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no accounts. Its watchlist is stored only on your device and is never uploaded. The app reads the same public data the website serves (company profiles, prices, search) over the public endpoints; it collects no personal information and asks for no sign-in.

AI processing

Answers are generated with the help of an AI model provider, Anthropic (Claude). Your question is forwarded to Anthropic for processing to produce the answer, with no identity attached. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Data retention and your choices

Children

stocks-llm is a general-audience informational tool and is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. Because the URL of this page is permanent, the latest version is always available here at https://stocks-llm.com/privacy.
