Short squeeze candidates
39 US companies meet all three conditions a short squeeze needs: at least 15% of their shares outstanding sold short, at least 7 days of average volume needed for those shorts to buy back, and a 14-day RSI of at least 55. They are candidates, not predictions.
Price readings from the 2026-08-06 session. Short interest settled 2026-07-15 — a twice-monthly filing, so it moves on its own schedule.

Short interest here is a percent of shares OUTSTANDING. Percent of shares outstanding, computed from the reported FINRA short interest and the company's share count — percent of FLOAT would be higher, because float excludes insider and restricted shares and is not disclosed in the FINRA source.
Every figure describes a position that already exists. Short interest and days to cover come from FINRA's twice-monthly disclosure, published days after it settles; the 14-day RSI beside them is recomputed each night from our own daily closes. That is why each row carries both dates rather than one. Companies whose share count we could not establish are left out entirely rather than shown as lightly shorted, and a company whose price history crosses an unadjusted change is excluded rather than ranked on a reading that change produced. Universe: SEC EDGAR (Russell 3000 + Dow).
Informational only — NOT financial advice. Most heavily shorted stocks never squeeze, a short position can be a hedge rather than a bet against the company, and nothing here predicts that any of these will move.
