What is trading above the Ichimoku cloud?

The cloud is a shaded band drawn from a stock’s own highs and lows — not from its closing prices, the way a moving average is. Because its edges are midpoints between the highest high and the lowest low over stretches of 9, 26 and 52 sessions, the band sits still while a stock stays inside its recent range and steps only when the stock makes a genuinely new extreme. That is why "above the cloud" means something a moving average cannot say: the price is not merely above an average of where it has been, it has cleared the entire range that recent trading established. The one fact worth knowing before reading this list is that the band standing over today’s price was computed from a window that closed about five weeks ago — the edges are plotted 26 sessions ahead of the data they come from, by the indicator’s definition rather than by drawing convention. Being clear of a five-week-old ceiling is a lower bar than clearing today’s, so a stock that has fallen sharply this month can still appear here. Each row names the date its band was drawn from for that reason.

How do I read the Trading above the Ichimoku cloud (UK) screen?

This screen lists companies whose latest close sits above the whole band, furthest above at the top, with the distance and the band’s height on every row. Practitioners read that position as an established uptrend, with the band beneath acting as the level that would have to give way for the picture to change. Three limits are worth stating. This is a broad list rather than a rare event — more than half the catalog is above its cloud, which is what a trend filter looks like in a market that has been rising, and it means membership here is a starting point rather than a finding. The band is five weeks stale by construction, so a stock that fell sharply in the last month can still be above a band drawn before the fall. And a price above a widely-watched level is a description of where it is, not a forecast of where it goes next. Nothing here is advice.

Data: daily-close price history, recomputed nightly. Every figure is shown with its as-of date on the company page; a company without enough price history for this indicator is excluded, never estimated.

2 covered companies were not evaluated for this screen because their price series end on or before an earlier session (AEP.L, MEGP.L), at least 0 trading sessions behind the null session the rest of the catalog carries. A technical signal is a claim about the present, so it is not asserted from a series that stops before it. Those companies keep the readings they have on their own page, with the as-of date they were computed from.
