Short squeeze candidates

Heavily shorted companies where the short position would also be slow to unwind and the price has been rising — the three conditions a short squeeze needs before it is even possible. A company qualifies when at least 15% of its shares outstanding are sold short, it would take at least 7 days of average trading volume for those shorts to buy back (days to cover), and its 14-day RSI is at least 55, meaning the price has been climbing rather than drifting. Percent of shares outstanding, computed from the reported FINRA short interest and the company's share count — percent of FLOAT would be higher, because float excludes insider and restricted shares and is not disclosed in the FINRA source. These are candidates, not predictions: the figures describe a position that already exists, and most heavily shorted stocks never squeeze. A short can also be a hedge or a merger-arbitrage position rather than a bet against the company. Short interest is a FINRA disclosure settled twice a month and published days later, so it is not a live figure; the RSI beside it is recomputed nightly from daily closes, which is why each row carries both dates. Companies whose share count we could not establish are left out entirely rather than shown as lightly shorted.

20 covered companies were left out of this ranking because their last price predates 2026-07-28 (CBC, CPRX, ECHO, EEX, ESPR, FJET, GLXY, GTLS, IBEX, KORE, NSA, NUVL, and 8 more), more than 3 trading sessions behind the 2026-08-06 price the rest of the catalog carries. The short-interest figures here are a filing and are unaffected, but the RSI beside them is read from the price series — so a company whose prices stopped updating would be reported as "rising" on a reading that has not moved. Those companies keep the price on their own page, with their own as-of date.

Ranked by short interest, RH (RH) leads the covered catalog at 30.9%.
