What is being stretched from a moving average?
A 200-day moving average is simply the average closing price over the last 200 sessions — a slow line that smooths out the noise and shows where a stock has been trading over the past year. Measuring the distance from it in percentage terms is the obvious thing to do and it is misleading, because 15% above the average is unremarkable for a small biotech and extraordinary for a utility. Measuring it in ATRs instead — in units of how far that particular company normally moves in a single session — puts every company on the same scale. Six daily ranges above the average means the same kind of stretch whoever it is.
How do I read the Stretched far above its 200-day average (6+ daily ranges) screen?
This screen lists companies trading at least six of their own daily ranges above their 200-day average, furthest first, and shows the plain percentage alongside so both readings are visible. It is a description of where price sits now, not a prediction that it will come back: a stock can stay stretched for months, and a large stretch is often exactly what a company in a genuine, durable re-rating looks like. Companies whose daily range is under 1% of their price are excluded, because dividing by a very small range produces a very large multiple for reasons that have nothing to do with being stretched. Nothing here is advice.

Data: daily-close price history, recomputed nightly. Every figure is shown with its as-of date on the company page; a company without enough price history for this indicator is excluded, never estimated.
32 covered companies were not evaluated for this screen because their price series end on or before 2026-07-28 (AKTS, ANGX, CCRN, CPRX, ECHO, EEX, ESPR, FLY, FRMI, GEMI, GLXY, GTLS, and 20 more), at least 7 trading sessions behind the 2026-08-06 session the rest of the catalog carries. A technical signal is a claim about the present, so it is not asserted from a series that stops before it. Those companies keep the readings they have on their own page, with the as-of date they were computed from.
Last updated 2026-08-06 — this screen recomputes nightly from daily-close prices, so its members change over time.
