What is a 20-day breakout to a new high?

A Donchian breakout compares today's close to the highest close of a recent window. This screen uses a 20-day window: a stock "breaks out" when it closes above every close of the prior 20 trading days — a fresh one-month high. Traders watch new highs because a price rising into unbroken territory has no recent overhead resistance above it.

How do I read the Broke out to a new 20-day high screen?

This screen lists companies that closed at a new 20-day high within the last few sessions, most recent breakout first. It marks a high that has just been made in the price data; it describes past strength and is not a prediction that the breakout will extend.

Data: Finnhub daily-close price history, recomputed nightly. Every figure is shown with its as-of date on the company page; a company without enough price history for this indicator is excluded, never estimated.

Last updated 2026-07-23 — this screen recomputes nightly from daily-close prices, so its members change over time.
